Cervitec F is a universal protective varnish for professional use, designed for mechanical protection of the tooth structure, fluoridation and antimicrobial action. It hardens to a clear transparent film on the tooth surface. Cervitec F contains 1400ppm ammonium fluoride, 0.3% CHX (chlorhexidine) and 0.5% CPC (cetylpyridinium chloride). Suitable for caries prevention in risk groups, fluoridation of enamel, remineralization of incipient caries, protection of hypersensitive teeth, and antimicrobial action. Cervitec F provides all the benefits of fluoride, CPC, and chlorhexidine without the negative side-effects of chlorhexidine gluconate in one varnish suitable for all ages. CHX and CPC are cationic substances that adhere to surfaces with a negative charge (e.g. cell walls of bacteria) and thereby inhibit plaque formation and bacterial metabolism.
